Josh Harrison hit a three-run homer after Trea Turner singled in the go-ahead run, and the visiting Washington Nationals capitalized on three errors to score six eighth-inning runs in an 11-4 victory over the New York Yankees on Friday night.

Yan Gomes hit a two-run homer and Josh Bell socked a solo shot, both during the third off Yankees starter Jameson Taillon.

The Nationals got to setup man Jonathan Loaisiga (3-2) in the eighth to snap a three-game slide. Washington's Juan Soto added a two-run home in the ninth inning of his first start since returning from the injured list.

Kyle Finnegan (2-0) threw a scoreless seventh for Washington. Tanner Rainey struck out three in the eighth, and Will Harris allowed one run in the ninth in the opener of a three-game set.

DJ LeMahieu homered twice and had three hits against Nationals starter Patrick Corbin, but he also committed one of the three crucial New York errors. Gary Sanchez also homered off Corbin, but the Yankees lost their second straight after winning seven of eight.

Loaisiga allowed five runs (four earned) on four hits while retiring only one batter. Luis Cessa followed and yielded another unearned run before escaping the eighth, then gave up Soto's ninth-inning shot.

With the game tied 3-3, the Nationals' decisive rally began when Aaron Judge misplayed Yadiel Hernandez's leadoff single to right, allowing the batter to advance to second.

Victor Robles attempted to sacrifice pinch runner Andrew Stevenson to third. However, third baseman LeMahieu's throw to first pulled Miguel Andujar off the bag, putting runners on the corners.

Turner singled through the middle with the infield in to plate Stevenson. Harrison came up next, crushing Loaisiga's 1-0 fastball to left to stake Washington to a 7-3 lead.

Kyle Schwarber added an RBI single off Cessa, and shortstop Gleyber Torres' error allowed another run. Turner, the Nationals' 12th batter of the inning, grounded to short to end it.

Taillon allowed three runs on three hits and a walk over 6 1/3 innings, retiring his next 15 batters after Gomes' blast. He fanned five.

Corbin gave up three runs on four hits with no walks and two strikeouts over six innings.
