Bryce Harper scored from second base on Andrew Knapp's go-ahead, run-scoring single in the ninth inning and the Philadelphia Phillies beat the visiting San Francisco Giants 6-5 on Wednesday to salvage the finale of the three-game series.
Wandy Peralta (2-1) walked Harper to begin the ninth and allowed a one-out single to Brad Miller before Knapp singled in the winning run.
Harper tied the game with two outs in the seventh with a 395-foot solo homer off rookie Camilo Doval. Harper had two hits and is 11-for-17 with two homers over his last five games.
Hector Neris (1-1) earned the win for Philadelphia, which won for just the fourth time in its last 12 games.
San Francisco trailed 4-1 in the seventh before former Phillie Darin Ruf crushed a pinch-hit, three-run homer off Brandon Kintzler. The Giants moved ahead later in the inning on Alex Dickerson's two-out, run-scoring single off JoJo Romero.
Mickey Moniak gave the Phillies an early lead in the second inning with his first career homer, a three-run blast to left field on a 3-2 pitch from Anthony DeSclafani.
After a 44-minute rain delay, the game resumed in the third inning. DeSclafani continued after the break and allowed three runs on five hits over four innings.
The Giants cut the deficit to 3-1 in the fifth against Zach Eflin when Buster Posey doubled to lead off the inning and Wilmer Flores singled before Posey scored on a fielder's choice. Eflin tossed six innings and was charged with one run on seven hits.
Philadelphia played without second baseman Jean Segura, who was placed on the 10-day injured list due to a strained right quadriceps. Miller replaced Segura in the lineup and went 4-for-5 with two runs scored.
Rookie shortstop Nick Maton added three hits for the Phillies, who loaded the bases with two outs in the eighth before Jose Alvarez struck out Rhys Hoskins to end the threat.
Dickerson had three hits for the Giants, who saw their three-game winning streak come to an end.
