Twins 5, White Sox 4: Brian Dozier delivered a walk-off single as Minnesota held off visiting Chicago.

Eduardo Escobar and Sam Fuld drew back-to-back one-out walks off Daniel Webb (4-1) before left-hander Scott Downs came on and got Danny Santana to lineout to left. The White Sox turned to closer Ronald Belisario, who left a 1-1 sinker over the plate to Dozier for the game-winning hit to left field.

Glen Perkins (3-0) surrendered two runs in the top of the ninth but ended up with the win in relief for the Twins, who have taken the first two contests of the four-game series. Escobar had a pair of RBIs and Kurt Suzuki drove in a run among three hits for Minnesota.

The White Sox grabbed a lead in the first inning when Gordon Beckham and Jose Abreu each delivered solo home runs. The Twins battled back to take the lead with three runs in the second as Escobar ripped a two-run double to right and Fuld tacked on a sacrifice fly.

Suzuki made it a 4-2 gap with an RBI infield single in the third and it stayed that way until the ninth, when Paul Konerko delivered a pinch-hit RBI single to trim the deficit. Moises Sierra came on as a pinch runner and scored the tying run on Adam Eaton’s double to left.

GAME NOTEBOOK: White Sox RHP Hector Noesi was charged with four runs on six hits in seven innings. Minnesota starter Ricky Nolasco battled through 5 1/3 innings, surrendering two runs on six hits. … White Sox C Tyler Flowers went 1-for-4 to improve to 2-for-34 over his last 11 games. … Perkins suffered his third blown save and first since May 15.
