Brewers 10, Marlins 1: Jonathan Lucroy and Carlos Gomez each recorded bases-loaded triples while Alfredo Figaro pitched seven shutout innings as visiting Milwaukee cruised past Miami.
Lucroy finished with four RBIs, Gomez went 4-for-5 with two triples, three RBIs and three runs scored and Jean Segura homered for the Brewers. Figaro (1-0) retired 17 straight batters at one point, allowed three hits, no walks, struck out four and contributed two infield singles.
Singles by Norichika Aoki and Gomez, followed by a walk to Aramis Ramirez, set up Lucroy’s triple to the right-center field gap for a 3-0 lead in the first inning. Segura led off the third with his 10th homer, a line shot over the left-center wall, for a 4-0 advantage.
The Brewers added another run in the fourth when Scooter Gennett singled with one out and later scored on Aoki's sacrifice fly. Gomez tripled and scored on Lucroy’s sacrifice fly in the fifth and ripped his three-run triple to the right-field fence in the sixth, later scoring for a 10-0 lead when the throw to third got away.
Miami starter Kevin Slowey (2-6), coming in off three days' rest, gave up six runs (five earned) on nine hits over five innings. Ed Lucas had a pair of hits for the Marlins, who dropped two of three in the series.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Lucroy was 5-for-11 with seven RBIs in the series. … Marlins 1B Logan Morrison got a day off after returning from the disabled list Sunday and playing three straight days. … Milwaukee LF Ryan Braun missed his third straight game with a right thumb injury and the Brewers, who play at Cincinnati on Friday, still expect to keep him off the disabled list.
