Angels 9, Red Sox 7 (11): Josh Hamilton hit a walk-off two-run homer as Los Angeles stormed back to stun visiting Boston.

The Angels trailed 7-3 heading into the ninth but loaded the bases against Alex Wilson before Koji Uehara came on and allowed singles to Albert Pujols and Hamilton to chop it to 7-6. It looked like the Red Sox had gotten out of the jam with a routine ground ball to third, but Brandon Snyder tried to get the force at second and threw the ball into right field as the tying run scored.

Brad Hawpe reached with a one-out single in the 11th in front of Hamilton, who got a first-pitch fastball from left-hander Craig Breslow (2-2) and blasted it into the stands in right-center. Mike Trout and Howie Kendrick each added a home run and Dane De La Rosa (4-1) grabbed the win in relief.

Jarrod Saltalamacchia reached out for a 2-1 pitch off the outside edge in the fourth and slashed it into the corner in left to plate two and give the Red Sox a 4-3 lead. Saltalamacchia came in on Jose Iglesias’ single and Dustin Pedroia and Daniel Nava each added an RBI later in the contest.

Nava recorded four hits and Ryan Dempster allowed three runs (two earned) on seven hits in 6 1/3 innings for Boston, which had a five-game winning streak come to an end.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Trout is the lone All-Star representative for the Angels while Boston DH David Ortiz will be joined by Pedroia and RHP Clay Buchholz from the Red Sox. Uehara has a chance to join the team as part of the Final Vote ballot. … The Red Sox recalled INF Brock Holt from Triple-A Pawtucket and optioned INF Jonathan Diaz. Holt went 0-for-2 with a sacrifice fly before being replaced by Snyder. … Boston LHP Andrew Miller left the game in the seventh inning with a left foot injury.
