White Sox 12, Twins 5: Alex Rios and Adam Dunn hit back-to-back home runs in the fifth inning and Chris Sale earned his ninth win as visiting Chicago routed Minnesota.

Dunn belted his 24th home run and snapped an 0-for-24 skid with three hits and four RBIs for the White Sox, who had a season-high 21 hits and won for the fifth time in their last seven games.

Sale (9-2) bolstered his case to start the All-Star game, giving up two runs on six hits and striking out five over seven innings. Sale, who leads the league with a 2.27 ERA, improved to 6-0 over his last eight starts.

Kevin Youkilis went 3-for-4 with two RBIs in his third game with Chicago, including a run-scoring single in the third off Nick Blackburn (4-5), who gave up six runs over five innings.

Dunn hit a three-run homer in the fifth and Rios followed with a solo shot, giving the White Sox a 6-0 lead.

Brian Dozier hit his third home run in the fifth before Chicago answered with three runs in the seventh on RBI singles by Alejandro De Aza, Youkilis and Dunn.

The White Sox added two runs over the next two innings before the Twins' Darin Mastroianni hit his first career home run in the eighth.
