Manny Ramirez doubled in a run and James Loney plated a pair as the Los Angeles Dodgers edged the Milwaukee Brewers, 5-4, on Wednesday.
Andre Ethier added a solo blast and Hiroki Kuroda (9-11) snapped a five-start winless streak for the Dodgers, who clinched their first road series win since before the All-Star break.
Ramirez has been the subject of numerous trade rumors since his return for the disabled list over the weekend. The slugger went 2-for-2 with a pair of walks and plated what turned out to be the winning run when his double scored Ryan Theriot in the sixth inning.
The Brewers led, 3-1, after a three-run fourth inning but Los Angeles stormed back to take the lead in the next frame.
Theriot led off with a double and came in to score on Matt Kemp’s sacrifice fly to cut it to 3-2. After Casey Blake’s double put runners on second and third, Loney reached former Dodger Randy Wolf (10-10) for a single to left, scoring Ramirez and Blake to give Los Angeles the lead.
Jonathan Broxton pitched a perfect eighth and Ronald Belisario, George Sherrill and Octavio Dotel combined to work a scoreless ninth - with Dotel recording the final out for his 22nd save of the season.
