Elias Pettersson scored on a breakaway, a shot that glanced in off Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry, at 3:05 of overtime Thursday to give the visiting Vancouver Canucks their fourth straight win, 4-3.

Pettersson finished with two goals and two assists, Brock Boeser had two goals, J.T. Miller added three assists and Filip Hronek two assists for the Canucks.

Vancouver goaltender Thatcher Demko made 32 saves.

Sidney Crosby scored twice and Marcus Pettersson had a goal and an assist for the Penguins, who have lost three of five (2-2-1).

Pittsburgh goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic gave up three goals on nine shots in the first period. Jarry came in and made 19 saves.

Penguins winger Reilly Smith left after absorbing a hit by Vancouver's Nikita Zadorov in the first.

The Canucks took a 1-0 lead at 5:44 of the first when Boeser, on a back-door play, tipped a feed from Elias Pettersson inside the right post.

Boeser struck again 47 seconds later, on a power play, to make it 2-0. From the low slot, he tipped in a shot by Miller.

Pittsburgh cut it to 2-1 at 16:20 of the first. Jansen Harkins stole the puck in Vancouver's end and weaved through a few Canucks, then fed Marcus Pettersson at the left point for a blast through traffic, his first goal since last Feb. 25.

Vancouver restored its two-goal lead at 17:31 of the first on yet another deflection. Elias Pettersson picked up his eighth goal in six games when he tipped in a point shot by Hronek to make it 3-1.

Jarry came in and stopped all 12 Canucks shots in the second, and the Penguins closed it to 3-2.

Crosby scored at 6:05 of the second. He took a bank pass off the boards from Jake Guentzel, came over the left point, swung wide of the Vancouver coverage and beat Demko far side.

With Jarry pulled, Pittsburgh tied it with 28.2 seconds left in regulation when Crosby tipped it in from a crowded crease.

It was Crosby's 574th career goal, moving past Mike Bossy for 22nd all-time in the NHL.
