Jonathan Davis came off the bench and scored a career-high 17 points to lead host Wisconsin to a 72-56 victory over Penn State on Tuesday night in Madison.

The No. 19 Badgers (14-5, 8-4 Big Ten) didn't have to wait long to earn some payback against the Nittany Lions (6-8, 3-7) as they avenged an 81-71 loss at Penn State this past Saturday.

In that game, the Nittany Lions outscored the Badgers 50-37 in the second half as Myreon Jones, Izaiah Brockington and John Harrar combined for 55 points. But in the rematch, the Badgers outscored Penn State 39-25 in the second half. Penn State's trio couldn't find the same shooting touch and were held to a combined 32 points.

Penn State shot 6-for-24 from 3-point range (25 percent) and 22-for-57 (38.6 percent) overall. Wisconsin made 9-of-18 3-pointers and shot 48.1 percent overall (25-for-52) and finished with 16 assists.

Jones led the Nittany Lions with 14 points on 6-for-15 shooting, Harrar finished with 10 points and five rebounds and Brockington had eight points.

Trailing 31-30, the Badgers went on a 22-4 run that began with a Brad Davison 3-pointer at the halftime buzzer. Penn State shot 2 of 10 from the field during that eight-plus minute stretch.

Nate Reuvers, Aleem Ford and Tyler Wahl combined for 46 points in Saturday's loss, but on Tuesday totaled only a combined 21 points.

This time, Wisconsin was led by Davis, who also finished with four rebounds and three steals and shot 6-for-7 from the field. That included a perfect 4-for-4 from 3-point range as the Badgers' bench outscored Penn State's reserves 35-15.

Davison finished with 13 points and seven rebounds.

Micah Potter added 12 points and eight rebounds for Wisconsin.

Penn State scored 11 points off 11 Wisconsin turnovers in the first half.

But the Badgers cleaned things up in the second half, only turning the ball over four times.
