Marial Shayok scored 21 points to lead Iowa State to a 78-61 home win over Oklahoma on Monday night in Ames, Iowa.
It was Shayok's 13th 20-plus point performance of the season.
The win snapped a two-game losing streak for the Cyclones (20-8 overall, 9-6 Big 12) and was their first win at home since Feb. 2.
The loss snapped a two-game winning streak for the Sooners and leaves Oklahoma in a precarious position as it tries to secure a spot in the NCAA Tournament with three regular-season games remaining.
Coming off his worst offensive performance of the season -- four points in a season-low 16 minutes thanks to foul trouble -- Shayok was steady through the game.
In the teams' first meeting on Feb. 4 at Oklahoma, Shayok's late 3-pointer helped lead Iowa State to a 75-74 win.
There were no such late heroics needed this time against the Sooners.
The game was tight for the most part until the Cyclones ripped off a 13-0 run over three minutes about midway through the second half to turn a three-point lead into a 63-47 advantage thanks to a trio of 3-pointers.
Shayok started the stretch with a 3-pointer and his layup capped off the run.
The senior guard -- a Virginia transfer -- finished 8 of 13 from the floor with three 3-pointers.
Freshman Talen Horton-Tucker added 18 points as Iowa State shot 51.9 percent from the floor and made 11 3-pointers. Shayok and Horton-Tucker were a combined 7 of 11 from the floor in the second half as the Cyclones outscored Oklahoma 41-25 after the break.
Oklahoma (17-11, 5-10) was led by Kristian Doolittle's 15 points and 11 rebounds. Christian James added 12 points. But the pair were just 10 of 32 from the field as Oklahoma shot just 38.1 percent from the floor.
Jamuni McNeace was a bright spot for the Sooners, scoring 12. It was McNeace's best offensive output in more than a month.
The Sooners were just 4 of 18 to start the second half, missing five consecutive shots during the run that gave Iowa State control for good.
Iowa State has not lost to the Sooners at home since 2011.
