De’End Parker scored 21 points and Casey Doolin had 18 points and a career-high 14 assists as the Dons stunned the visiting Red Storm for their fifth straight victory.

Mark Tollefsen added 11 points and Tim Derksen scored 10 for San Francisco (5-1), which had a 15-point second-half lead trimmed to three before using a 15-3 spurt to re-establish control.

JaKarr Sampson scored a career-high 22 points and D’Angelo Harrison added 14 for St. John’s (6-3), who had a four-game winning streak halted.

The Red Storm trailed 52-37 four-plus minutes into the second half as the Dons opened the half by going 6-of-7 from the field during a 14-2 run. The Red Storm later scored 10 consecutive points to move within 54-49 on Sampson’s hoop with 12:22 remaining.

Another basket by Sampson cut San Francisco’s lead to 59-56 with 7:41 to play before Doolin scored six points during the late-game surge that gave the Dons a 74-60 lead with 2:21 left.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Parker hit all three of his 3-point attempts and is shooting 75 percent (15-of-20) from behind the arc. … Harrison failed to reach 20 points for only the second time in nine games. … The Dons were 6-of-11 from 3-point range while taking a 38-35 halftime lead. San Francisco was 9-of-15 overall.
