Donte Williams had 17 points and seven rebounds to lead a balanced attack, and Georgia erased a seven-point deficit in the second half of its 72-61 victory over visiting South Dakota State on Wednesday.
Gerald Robinson scored 15 points, Nemanja Djurisic had 12 of his 14 in the second half and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope added 14 for the Bulldogs (3-0), who concluded a season-opening three-game homestand.
Tied at 29-29 at halftime, Georgia trailed 38-31 three minutes into the second half before taking control. Djurisic’s jumper tied the score at 40 five minutes into the half.
The Bulldogs led 45-44 with 12 minutes left and scored seven straight points to build a 52-44 lead on Caldwell-Pope’s layup with 10 minutes left.
Nate Wolters scored 15 points for the Jackrabbits, who never got within three points the rest of the way.
