Dayton rallied from 12 points down in the final eight minutes of regulation and pulled away in overtime for a 78-71 victory at Mississippi on Saturday night.
Chris Johnson scored 20 points and Josh Parker added 18 for the Flyers (3-0), who trailed 63-51 before rallying to force the extra session.
Johnson also pulled down 11 rebounds to help Dayton dominate the backboards, 43-29.
Zach Graham had a team-high 16 points for the Rebels (2-1), who jumped out to a 46-33 halftime advantage.
Ole Miss senior guard Chris Warren, a preseason All-SEC first-team selection, had his second straight sub-par shooting game and finished with 11 points. He was 4 of 17 from the field and 1 of 12 from 3-point range.
The two teams met in last year's NIT semifinals, with Dayton also prevailing by a 68-63 margin.
