Clippers 101, Nets 95: Chris Paul scored 17 of his 29 points in the final quarter and recorded 11 assists to lead host Los Angeles past Brooklyn.
Willie Green scored 15 points, DeAndre Jordan had 13 points and 12 rebounds and Jamal Crawford added 13 for the Clippers. Los Angeles is in fourth place in the Western Conference playoff race, a half-game behind the Denver Nuggets and a half-game ahead of the Memphis Grizzlies.
Brook Lopez and Deron Williams scored 18 points apiece and Joe Johnson and Gerald Wallace each had 15 points for the Nets, who are in fourth place in the Eastern Conference.
The contest was tied at 90 before Paul knocked down a 20-footer with 2:01 to play, and Crawford’s steal and layup made it a four-point advantage with 40 seconds left. A three-point play by Paul with 22 seconds left gave Los Angeles a 97-92 lead, and he added two free throws with 16.7 seconds remaining to give Los Angeles a seven-point cushion.
Brooklyn led 49-47 at halftime and increased the lead to seven on a 3-pointer by Wallace with 9:27 left in the third quarter. The Clippers caught the Nets at 65 on a 3-pointer by Caron Butler before Brooklyn rolled off eight straight points on the way to taking a 75-70 lead into the final stanza.
GAME NOTEBOOK: The Clippers have won 10 straight games against Eastern Conference foes. … Nets F Reggie Evans grabbed 16 rebounds and is averaging 16 boards over the last nine games. … Los Angeles PG Eric Bledsoe had seven points in 10 minutes in his return after missing five games with a calf injury.
