Dwyane Wade scored 26 points and LeBron James had 24 to give the Miami Heat a 107-91 home victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday for their eighth win in their last nine games.
The Heat held the Cavaliers without a field goal for nearly five minutes in the fourth quarter, allowing them to turn a six-point game into a 94-82 lead with five minutes left.
Antawn Jamison had 25 points. Alonzo Gee had 17 points in his first start of the season and rookie Kyrie Irving had 16 points, six rebounds and six assists but shot just 5 of 15 for Cleveland.
Miami’s defense forced the Cavs to miss eight consecutive shots during the critical stretch of the fourth quarter.
Chris Bosh added 15 points and nine rebounds, Mario Chalmers had 14 points and the Heat improved to 5-1 against James’ former team.
