Reds 7, Mets 4: Brandon Phillips drove in the go-ahead run with a check-swing double in the eighth as visiting Cincinnati completed a three-game sweep of New York.

Phillips sent a grounder down the line off Bobby Parnell (4-1) that Mets first baseman Ike Davis let go, thinking it would be foul. The ball landed on the line and hopped over the bag, allowing Shin-Soo Choo to score the tiebreaking run and sparking a three-run rally for the Reds in the ninth.

Alfredo Simon (4-1) picked up the win in relief and Aroldis Chapman worked a scoreless ninth for his 10th save. Joey Votto homered and scored three runs while Zack Cozart went 4-for-5 and Todd Frazier added a pair of RBIs for Cincinnati.

Votto gave the Reds a 2-1 lead in the third when he got the green light on a 3-0 count and ripped a fastball the opposite way into the left-field seats for a two-run blast. New York tied it up on Daniel Murphy’s sacrifice fly in the fifth.

Cincinnati rallied for two runs in the seventh, ending Matt Harvey’s day when Phillips ripped an RBI single just inside the bag at third and adding another when Jay Bruce’s chopper down the first-base line allowed Votto to score. New York got those runs back in the bottom of the frame on Murphy’s RBI single and a run-scoring triple from Rick Ankiel that hit off the top of the wall in left.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Harvey was charged with four runs and nine hits in 6 1/3 innings, ending a 16-game streak of allowing three or fewer earned runs dating to last season. … Reds starter Matt Latos surrendered four runs and eight hits in 6 2/3 innings, marking only the second time this season that he has given up more than three earned runs. … Davis, who made a pair of questionable plays at first base that allowed the Reds to score runs, went 0-for-2 with a pair of walks to extend his slump to 1-for-38 in his last 11 games.
