Marlins 2, Phillies 1: Carlos Lee lined a single into left center in the bottom of the ninth as host Miami snapped its seven-game losing streak.
Bryan Petersen led off the ninth with a double off Josh Lindblom (3-4). With one out and runners on first and second, Lee hit the game winner to give the Marlins the victory in the series opener.
Giancarlo Stanton returned to the Miami lineup for the first time since Sept. 16, finishing 2-for-3 with a double and his career-high 35th homer.
Steve Cishek (5-2) pitched a scoreless ninth for the victory. Miami starter Mark Buehrle allowed one run on six hits with no walks and eight strikeouts in eight innings.
Philadelphia starter Cliff Lee also pitched well, allowing one run on three hits with no walks and five strikeouts in seven innings. Jimmy Rollins singled with two outs in the eighth, scoring John Mayberry Jr. with the Phillies’ lone run.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Stanton has 91 career homers in 368 games. He hit 22 as a rookie in 2010 and 34 last season. … Buehrle topped the 200-inning mark for the 12th consecutive season.
