Hiroki Kuroda pitched seven shutout innings to win his first game since May 17 as the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers earned a 5-0 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on Friday night.
Kuroda (6-9) allowed three hits and got plenty of support from his offense, which pounded out 13 hits. Tony Gwynn Jr. was 3-for-3 with an RBI and a stolen base, and reached base six times.
Angels’ starter Tyler Chatwood (5-5) allowed four runs on 12 hits in five innings.
The Dodgers scored single runs in the each of the first four innings before rookie shortstop Dee Gordon stole home in the seventh as the Dodgers won their second straight over the Angels, who had won six of their last seven games entering Friday.
The Angels’ Torii Hunter left the game in the third inning after being hit on the hand with a pitch.
