Carl Pavano won his fifth straight decision and the Minnesota Twins snapped Detroit's five-game winning streak with a 6-3 win on Sunday.

Pavano (10-6) retired the first 13 hitters before Brennan Boesch reached on an infield single with one out in the fifth. He gave up three runs and six hits in 7 2/3 innings. Pavano walked one, struck out six and hasn't lost since June 6.

Jon Rauch pitched the ninth for his 20th save.

Minnesota scored two runs in the first, fifth and eighth to avoid the three-game sweep and end its four-game losing streak. Michael Cuddyer had two hits, including a two-run double in the fifth. Jim Thome, Jason Kubel, Danny Valencia and Drew Butera each drove in a run as well.

Andrew Oliver (0-3) allowed four runs and five hits in 4 2/3 innings in his fourth major-league start.

Pavano took a 4-0 lead into the seventh when Detroit cut the advantage in half on Miguel Cabrera's RBI double and Brennan Boesch's run-scoring groundout. Johnny Damon added an RBI single in the eighth.

Cabrera extended his career-high hitting streak to 19 games.

Minnesota first baseman Justin Morneau missed his fourth straight game because of a concussion.
