Desmond Bane scored 20 points, but it was defense that made the real difference as TCU strolled to a 52-40 win over visiting Oklahoma State on Saturday afternoon in Big 12 action in Fort Worth, Texas.

TCU led for all but the first minute of the game, by seven points at the half and by as many as 16 after a 3-pointer by Bane with 5:21 to play. Any chance the Cowboys had to get back in the game was detoured by an 8-0 run by the Horned Frogs over a two-and-a half-minute stretch beginning at the 8:05 mark of the second half.

Oklahoma State went almost seven minutes without scoring late in the second half , going 0 for 9 from the floor during that drought.

Francisco Farabello added a career-high 10 points for the Horned Frogs (12-3, 3-0 Big 12), who won their fourth straight game. TCU had won each of its previous two league games over Iowa State (in overtime) and Kansas State by just two points.

Isaac Likekele led Oklahoma State (9-6, 0-3) with 12 points, with Cameron McGriff adding 11 points. Thomas Dziagwa and Lindy Waters III, two of the Cowboys' most potent scorers, combined for zero points on 0-of-13 shooting from the floor.

Neither team got into any offensive flow in the first half, after which the Horned Frogs led 24-17. TCU shot just 29.2 percent in the half but that was still better than the Cowboys at 28 percent.

The difference was Bane's 14 points -- he canned two of the Horned Frogs' three 3-pointers in the half -- and 21-17 edge in rebounding by TCU.

Likekele and Anderson paced Oklahoma State with six points each but the rest of the team managed just five points over the first 20 minutes. The Cowboys were 1 of 9 from beyond the arc in the half.

OSU got to within 24-19 on a layup by Likekele a minute into the second half but never threatened after that point.
