Iowa State 86, Texas Tech 66: Will Clyburn and Chris Babb scored 17 points apiece as the host Cyclones extended their home winning streak to 22 games.
Melvin Ejim had his 12th double-double of the season with 13 points and 13 rebounds for Iowa State (19-8, 9-5 Big 12). The Cyclones improved to 15-0 at home by avenging a five-point loss at Texas Tech (9-16, 2-12) last month.
Freshman Josh Gray scored 20 points and sixth man Jaye Crockett added 13 and 11 boards for the Red Raiders. Texas Tech tumbled to its eighth consecutive loss since beating the Cyclones.
Texas Tech got within 45-39 on a 3-pointer by Gray before Iowa State started to pull away, using a 9-1 burst to extend the advantage to 54-40 with less than 12 1/2 minutes left. Eventually, the Cyclones pushed the lead to more than 20 points.
The score was tied at 26 in the first half before Babb buried a pair of 3-pointers to spark a 10-0 run by the Cyclones. A 3-pointer by Gray cut the deficit to 36-29 at halftime.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Babb was 5-of-9 from behind the arc as Iowa State hit 11-of-29 overall from long range, the eighth time in its last nine games that it has knocked down at least 10 3-pointers. ... Gray, who scored a career-high 26 points in a loss to Oklahoma on Wednesday, has had two of his three highest-scoring games against the Cyclones. ... Tyrus McGee scored 13 points as Iowa State reached 80 points for the 16th time. The Cyclones were held to a season-low point total in the 56-51 loss at Texas Tech.
