Brandon Crawford singled home Evan Longoria with two outs in the 10th inning Tuesday afternoon to give visiting San Francisco a second straight, extra-innings victory over the Padres and complete a two-game sweep at Petco Park.

The Giants' 3-2 win followed their 5-3, 12-inning victory Monday night. San Francisco, which arrived in San Diego having gone 3-6 since the All-Star break, won its third straight.

Meanwhile, the Padres' plummet is approaching record levels. The loss was San Diego's seventh straight.

The Padres are 2-14 over their past 16 games. They went 5-20 in July, the second-worst month in the franchise's 50-year history by winning percentage. San Diego stumbled to a 5-22 mark in August 1969 during its inaugural season. The Padres fell to 8-30 since June 15.

Longoria opened the 10th with a triple as the ball caromed off the wall and past Padres right fielder Travis Jankowski. Padres reliever Phil Maton (0-2) then struck out Nick Hundley and retired Austin Slater on a short fly to right before Crawford singled to right.

Tony Watson (3-4) got the win for the Giants, and Will Smith earned his sixth save.

The Padres tied the game in the bottom of the eighth against Giants right-handed reliever Reyes Moronta, who walked pinch hitter Jose Pirela to open the inning. Pirela moved to third on Jankowski's single to right and scored on Manuel Margot's forceout grounder to short.

Moronta had replaced rookie right-hander Dereck Rodriguez, who had held the Padres to one run on three hits and three walks with seven strikeouts over seven innings.

The Padres took a 1-0 lead in the first as Wil Myers singled with two outs and came around on a double by Eric Hosmer. It was the first baseman's first extra-base hit since he homered on July 15 and only his fifth since June 15.

The Giants tied the game in the fourth on Gorkys Hernandez's sacrifice fly after three straight, one-out singles by Slater, Crawford and Hunter Pence loaded the bases against left-handed starter Clayton Richard. Andrew McCutchen opened the fifth with his 11th homer of the season to put the Giants ahead 2-1.

Richard gave up two runs on five hits and three walks with a strikeout in five innings.
