Philadelphia blew a two-run lead in the ninth in an unlikely manner and watched St. Louis take the lead in the 10th on Tommy Pham's homer before rallying for the victory.

Altherr smacked a liner to left off right-hander Matt Bowman (0-2) with two runners on and Cardinals left fielder Marcell Ozuna missed a diving attempt and the ball got past him. Rhys Hoskins and Carlos Santana both scored to give the Phillies their sixth win in the past eight games.

St. Louis trailed 4-2 in the ninth, and Phillies rookie right-hander Victor Arano appeared to have notched his first career save when he struck out Yairo Munoz. But the bouncing slider got past catcher Andrew Knapp and instead of ending the contest, Munoz reached first safely and Molina scored to pull St. Louis within one.

Left-hander Adam Morgan entered to face pinch hitter Kolten Wong, who delivered the tying ground single to center.

Pham led off the 10th inning by launching a slider 416 feet to left field off Phillies right-hander Jake Thompson (1-0) to give the Cardinals a 5-4 lead.

Matt Carpenter and Yadier Molina also homered for St. Louis.

Odubel Herrera smacked a three-run shot for Philadelphia.

The ninth-inning oddity prevented Phillies right-hander Nick Pivetta from ending his four-start losing streak. Pivetta struck out a career-best 13 in 7 1/3 innings and allowed two runs, four hits and one walk.

Cardinals right-hander Miles Mikolas gave up four runs and six hits over five innings. He struck out three and walked one.

Molina played in his 1,757th game as a catcher for St. Louis to set a record for most games caught with one team. Gabby Hartnett caught in 1,756 games for the Chicago Cubs between 1922-40.

Herrera's homer came in the opening inning and followed a single by leadoff hitter Cesar Hernandez and a walk to Hoskins. Herrera lined a 1-1 changeup from Mikolas over the wall in right.

Knapp delivered an RBI single with two outs in the inning to make it 4-0.

The left-handed-hitting Carpenter got the Cardinals on the board in the third when he went the opposite way with a 2-1 fastball to homer inside the left-field foul pole.

St. Louis pulled within 4-2 with one out in the seventh when Molina slugged an 0-2 fastball over the fence in right-center field.
