Brewers 7, Marlins 1: Jonathan Lucroy recorded two doubles, a triple and two RBIs and Jimmy Nelson won his first major-league game as visiting Milwaukee rolled over Miami to take two of three in the series.

Ryan Braun collected four hits and an RBI while Carlos Gomez had two singles and knocked in a run as the Brewers finished their road trip 4-6. Nelson (1-0), making his second career start and first this season, allowed five hits and three walks in 5 2/3 scoreless innings with six strikeouts.

Marcell Ozuna had two hits, including a solo homer in the ninth inning, while Adeiny Hechavarria and Jeff Mathis each registered a pair of singles for the Marlins. Randy Wolf (0-1) made his first start for Miami and allowed six runs (four earned) – all in the first three innings -- on nine hits over five frames.

Lucroy opened the scoring with an RBI double before Gomez and Rickie Weeks delivered run-scoring singles in the first inning for a 3-0 lead. Braun ripped an RBI triple to right-center field and scored on Lucroy’s double in the second and a Martin Maldonado RBI single made it 6-0 in the third.

The Marlins loaded the bases on a pair of singles and a walk in the fifth, but Nelson struck out Derek Dietrich and got Giancarlo Stanton on a pop up to end the threat. Khris Davis ripped his second double of the game in the eighth inning and scored on Scooter Gennett’s pinch-hit single for a 7-0 lead.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Gomez finished the series 8-for-13 with three RBIs and three runs scored. … Lucroy, the regular catcher for the Brewers, made his third appearance at first base this season. … Milwaukee outrighted INF Jeff Bianchi to Triple-A Nashville to make room for Nelson on the roster. Nelson took the spot of injured RHP Yovani Gallardo (ankle) in the rotation.
