Mets 7, Phillies 2: John Buck stayed hot with a three-run homer and Matt Harvey allowed one run in seven innings to lift visiting New York in the opener of a three-game series.
Buck went deep for the third time this season to make it 3-0 in the second and lift his National League-leading RBI total to 12. Lucas Duda had an RBI single in the third and the Mets collected three more runs in the fifth to chase struggling Roy Halladay (0-2).
Halladay was charged with seven runs on six hits and three walks in four-plus innings, walking three and striking out three. He has been reached for 12 runs in 7 1/3 innings this season, and has pitched a total of 14 innings in his last four starts dating to last season.
Ryan Howard's sacrifice fly pulled Philadelphia within 4-1 in the fourth but David Wright had an RBI single and Ruben Tejada a two-run single in the fifth as the Mets gave Harvey (2-0) plenty of support.
The 24-year-old struck out nine, yielded three hits and walked two. His ERA through two games sits at 0.64, and he is 2-0 with a 1.77 ERA in three career starts against Philadelphia.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Mets 2B Daniel Murphy was 2-for-4 with two runs scored. He has an extra-base hit in four straight games. ... Phillies starters have a 7.68 ERA. ... Buck didn't pick up his 12th RBI last year until May 25.
