Michael Stutes (3-1) struck out one in a scoreless fifth inning to get the victory and Jonathan Papelbon worked around a two-out hit to notch his 29th save in the ninth.
Justin Ruggiano collected an RBI double and a single for the Marlins, who have dropped 12 of 18 to the Phillies this season. Miami starter Henderson Alvarez (4-6) allowed two runs and five hits over seven innings with five strikeouts and belted his third double of the season.
Rollins doubled with one out and scored on Ruf’s bases-loaded walk before Frandsen’s RBI groundout gave the Phillies a 2-0 lead in the first inning. Giancarlo Stanton singled to lead off the second and scored on Ruggiano’s two-base hit to deep center field, cutting the deficit in half.
