Marlins 4, Phillies 3 (10): Ed Lucas belted a homer to lead off the 10th inning as visiting Miami salvaged the finale of a three-game series and snapped a seven-game losing skid to Philadelphia.
Reliever Cesar Jimenez (1-1) entered the contest in the 10th and watched Lucas deposit a 2-2 slider over the wall in left for his fourth homer - and first since Aug. 23.
Brad Hand (1-1) stranded a runner at third base in the ninth inning to pick up the win. Steve Cishek did the same in the 10th before retiring the last three batters of the game to secure his 31st save.
Giancarlo Stanton forged a 3-3 tie after launching a mammoth two-run homer in the sixth inning. Adeiny Hechavarria scored and made a pair of defensive gems for the Marlins, who ended a four-game losing skid with their third win in 13 outings.
Chase Utley ripped a two-run single to highlight a three-run fifth inning. Cesar Hernandez went 2-for-4 for the third straight game, but the Phillies fell for just the fourth time in 12 outings.
GAME NOTEBOOK: After Utley's two-run single gave Philadelphia a 3-1 lead, Stanton knotted the contest in the sixth inning by jumping on a 1-1 slider from RHP Ethan Martin and sending it an estimated 463 feet for his team-leading 23rd homer. ... Hernandez has recorded multiple hits in five of his last seven contests. ... The Phillies host the New York Mets on Friday in the opener of a three-game series while the Marlins wrap up their 11-game road trip by beginning a four-game set versus Washington on Thursday.
