Braves 13, Phillies 4: Andrelton Simmons led off the game with a home run and Dan Uggla and Jason Heyward also went deep as visiting Atlanta routed Philadelphia to even the series at a game apiece.

Simmons' second career leadoff homer set the tone for the Braves, who racked up season highs in hits (19) and runs (13) while scoring in double-digits for the third time in seven games. Brian McCann went 4-for-5 and scored twice to help Atlanta snap a three-game losing streak.

The offensive outburst came in support of Tim Hudson (5-7), who held the Phillies to one run on five hits over seven innings to earn his first win since May 5, a span of 10 starts without a victory. He struck out four and didn't issue a walk.

Phillies starter Kyle Kendrick (7-6) was roughed up for six runs on 12 hits over five innings, falling to 7-2 against the Braves and suffering his first defeat against them since July 25, 2008. Kendrick gave up Simmons' leadoff blast and a two-run shot to Uggla in the second, while Heyward's three-run homer in the seventh came against left-hander Joe Savery.

Simmons added an RBI triple, Uggla also had a sacrifice fly and Chris Johnson had two hits and two RBIs for Atlanta. Jimmy Rollins went 1-for-4 with an RBI single for the Phillies, extending his hitting streak to nine games, and Michael Young added a two-run homer in the ninth.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Phillies 1B Ryan Howard was scratched from the lineup and placed on the 15-day disabled list with a left knee injury. Philadelphia recalled OF/1B Darin Ruf from Triple-A Lehigh Valley. … Uggla's home run was his 28th against the Phillies, his most against any opponent and tied for the second-most for any active player against Philadelphia (Carlos Beltran, 30; David Wright, 28). … Braves RHP Craig Kimbrel and Phillies OF Domonic Brown and LHP Cliff Lee were selected to the National League All-Star team. Atlanta 1B Freddie Freeman is among five players up for the final spot to be determined by fan voting.
