Indians 4, White Sox 3 (12): Travis Hafner recorded his 200th career homer as a member of Cleveland with a pinch-hit, two-run blast in the ninth inning and Jason Donald had an RBI single in the 12th to lift the Indians to victory.
With one out in the 12th inning, Lonnie Chisenhall ripped a double before Matt Thornton (4-10) issued an intentional walk. Reliever Nate Jones promptly struck out Jack Hannahan, but Donald deposited a 1-1 slider into shallow left to score Chisenhall.
Chicago starter Jake Peavy yielded Shin-Soo Choo's leadoff homer in the fourth before cruising into the ninth with a 3-1 lead. The veteran right-hander then issued a leadoff single to Michael Brantley before Hafner tied the game with a blast over the right-field wall for his 12th homer.
Chris Seddon (1-1) retired the side in order in the 12th inning to secure the win.
After launching a grand slam in the White Sox's 11-0 series opener on Monday, Dayan Viciedo snapped a 1-1 tie by belting a two-run homer in the ninth inning off Chris Perez. The blast was Viciedo's 24th and gave him eight RBIs in the last three games.
