Marlins 6, Dodgers 2: Rob Brantly snapped a fifth-inning tie with his first career home run as visiting Miami salvaged the finale of their three-game series.

Giancarlo Stanton homered for the third straight game and Mark Buehrle worked 5 2/3 solid innings for the Marlins, who snapped their four-game losing streak and improved to 5-6 on their 11-game road trip.

Los Angeles' Andre Ethier struck out in the first inning, ending his streak of consecutive at-bats with a hit at a franchise record-tying 10. Ethier went 4-for-4 on Saturday to match the franchise mark set in 1919 by Ed Konetchy of the Brooklyn Robins.

With the contest even at 1-1, Brantly followed Donovan Solano's leadoff single with a blast to right-center field. The two RBIs were the first in the majors for Brantly, who was acquired from Detroit on July 23 in the deal for Anibal Sanchez.

The Dodgers got within a run on Ethier's RBI single in the seventh, but Greg Dobbs doubled and scored in the eighth before Jose Reyes and Carlos Lee began the ninth with back-to-back homers off Shawn Tolleson to seal the win.

Buehrle (12-11) allowed one run and six hits en route to his third consecutive victory. The veteran left-hander, who walked three and struck out four, has yielded a total of five runs over 19 2/3 innings during his winning streak.

Four relievers bridged the gap to Steve Cishek, who recorded the final four outs for his 11th save.

Newly acquired Nick Punto helped give Los Angeles an early lead. Starting at second base, Punto drew a one-out walk in the first inning, advanced to second on Matt Kemp's base hit and scored on a single by Adrian Gonzalez, who also came over from Boston in Saturday's blockbuster trade.

The Marlins pulled even with two outs in the fourth as Stanton deposited Aaron Harang's first offering over the center-field wall. It was the eighth blast of the road trip for Stanton.

Harang (9-8) surrendered three runs and six hits over 5 1/3 innings. The right-hander, who had allowed a total of three runs while winning his previous two starts, fell to 0-3 in his last four home outings.

Shane Victorino collected three hits for the Dodgers, who fell 1 1/2 games behind St. Louis for the second wild-card spot in the National League. Los Angeles entered just two games behind NL West-leading San Francisco, which hosts Atlanta on Sunday evening.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Ethier had set the Los Angeles Dodgers record of 10 consecutive hits on Saturday, eclipsing the mark previously reached in 1977 by Ron Cey. ... Stanton has hit 16 of his 29 home runs this year against NL West teams. ... Punto and Gonzalez each recorded their first stolen base as a Dodger. ... Vin Scully, the Dodgers' 84-year-old broadcaster, announced he will return for his 64th season with the club. Scully began broadcasting the franchise's games in 1950, when the Dodgers still resided in Brooklyn. ... Harang has won just two of his 11 home starts.
