Marlins 5, Padres 4 (10): Justin Ruggiano's RBI single in the 10th inning - his second of the game - lifted host Miami to a walk-off win in the rubber game of the series.
Ruggiano lined a single into left field off Brad Brach (0-2) to plate Jose Reyes, who led off the inning with a double.
Ryan Webb (4-2) escaped a bases-loaded threat in the top of the 10th as the Marlins won for only the third time in 11 games.
Reyes went 2-for-5 to extend his hitting streak to 16 games, and Donnie Murphy had a two-run triple to cap a four-run sixth inning for Miami.
Padres first baseman Yonder Alonso - a University of Miami product - erased a two-run deficit in the eighth inning with a massive two-run homer off Edward Mujica, giving him five hits and five RBIs in the series.
Marlins right-hander Josh Johnson, pitching with a number of scouts in attendance, was shaky in his five-inning stint, allowing two runs on two hits and tying a career high with six walks.
Padres lefty Clayton Richard gave up two runs on five hits in 5 1/3 innings. He also collected his career-best sixth RBI with a sacrifice fly in the fourth.
