Southern Methodist 76, No. 7 Cincinnati 55: Ben Moore scored 15 points without missing a shot as the host Mustangs snapped the Bearcats' 15-game winning streak.

While Cincinnati (22-3, 11-1 American Athletic Conference) had not lost since Dec. 14, Southern Methodist (19-5, 8-3) recently dropped a 78-71 decision to South Florida, only to rebound with three straight wins - a 15-point victory over then-No. 22 Memphis, a 23-point rout of Temple and now a statement victory over the Bearcats. Moore finished 4-of-4 from the field and 7-of-7 from the foul line while adding five rebounds, two assists and a pair of blocks off the bench.

Nick Russell also had 15 points for the Mustangs while Nic Moore scored 14 and Cannen Cunningham recorded all 11 of his points in the first half. Sean Kilpatrick led Cincinnati with 22 points but shot only 5-of-18 from the field, and Justin Jackson contributed 10 points and nine boards for the Bearcats.

Cincinnati never recovered from a 9-0 run that turned an early 13-12 advantage into a 10-point bulge. A 7-1 run to end the half sent SMU into the locker room with a 38-24 lead.

A layup by Nic Moore and two foul shots by Russell began the second-half scoring for the Mustangs, although the Bearcats clawed their way back to within 48-41 with 10 minutes left. However, SMU posted 11 straight points, including a Nic Moore 3-pointer and two inside buckets by Russell, to take command for good.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Russell had three of SMU's 10 steals. ... The teams combined to hit only 8-of-38 3-pointers, including a 4-of-24 performance by Cincinnati. ... Kilpatrick led the Bearcats with 13 first-half points, but none of his teammates had more than two points at intermission.
