No. 17 Baylor 104, Hardin-Simmons 59: Rico Gathers and Brady Heslip scored 17 points apiece as the host Bears cruised past the Division III Cowboys.
Corey Jefferson added 16 points and 10 rebounds for Baylor (7-1), which shot 63.3 percent from the floor. Taurean Prince chipped in 13 points while Gathers recorded nine rebounds.
Cameron Barnes paced Hardin-Simmons (0-3) with 15 points. Josh Barnes scored 12 and Eric Taylor had nine for the Cowboys, who were 5-for-27 from 3-point range.
After Hardin-Simmons opened an 8-6 lead, Baylor reeled off a 22-4 run as Heslip hit two 3-pointers and Prince one. The Bears' 28-12 lead with 11:01 left in the first half grew into a 52-27 advantage at halftime. Baylor outscored the Cowboys 52-32 in the second half.
