Washington State 61, Wyoming 41: Brock Motum scored 25 points as the host Cougars routed the Cowboys in the quarterfinals of the College Basketball Invitational.
Abe Lodwick added 16 points and connected on four 3-pointers as Washington State (17-16) advances to the semifinals Wednesday at Oregon State.
Leonard Washington scored 14 points and Adam Waddell added 13 for Wyoming (21-12).
Washington State led 26-21 at halftime and held Wyoming to four points over the first 10 1/2 minutes of the second half to take a 40-25 advantage.
The Cowboys missed their first 11 3-point attempts until Luke Martinez drained one with 8:49 to play to cut their deficit to 42-30.
Wyoming pulled within 10 points before Washington State answered with seven consecutive points to take a 54-37 lead on Motum’s layup with 3:28 to play.
Wyoming shot just 35.6 percent and finished 2 for 16 from 3-point range.
The Cougars made 21 of 29 free-throw attempts. Wyoming was just 7 for 12.
Motum had 14 first-half points.
