Georgia held Delaware State scoreless for almost five minutes in the second half and used a 9-4 run to close out a 58-51 win over Delaware State on Friday at Stegeman Coliseum.
Dustin Ware led the Bulldogs with 15 points on 5-of-8 shooting, including 3-of-6 from 3-point range.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Donte’ Williams each added 12 points for Georgia (9-5).
After trailing by as many as 10 in the first half, Georgia closed out the half strong. Georgia took a 20-19 lead, its first lead of the game, on a 3-pointer by Ware with 6:11 left in the opening half. Ware carried the Bulldogs in the first half, making 3 of 6 3-pointers for nine points. His 3-pointer at the buzzer gave Georgia a 32-29 halftime lead.
