Ravern Johnson scored 17 points to help Mississippi State to a 74-58 win over North Carolina A&T Sunday in Starkville, Miss.
The Bulldogs (5-2) dominated throughout, building a 41-21 halftime lead and cruising to easy win.
Mississippi State’s offense shined, nailing 15 3-pointers and shooting 25-of-56 from the field (44.6 percent).
Johnson was a big part of that, going 6-of-14 from the field and 5-of-10 from 3-point range. He entered the game leading the SEC with 25.0 points per game, good for sixth nationally.
The win should help the Bulldogs get a sour taste out of their mouths. They lost 63-62 to East Tennessee State at home on Saturday.
The Bulldogs were without Renardo Sidney and Dee Bost, who had been projected to start this season. They weren’t allowed to play because of NCAA suspensions.
Nic Simpson led the Aggies (5-4) with 16 points.
