Justin Turner homered twice Wednesday to lead the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers past the Pittsburgh Pirates 2-1.
The Dodgers have won 12 straight games against Pittsburgh dating to 2018, including the first two of this three-game series.
All of the scoring came in the first 2 1/2 innings.
Los Angeles starter Tony Gonsolin, making his season debut after recovering from a shoulder injury, lasted just 1 2/3 innings, giving up one run and two hits, with five walks and four strikeouts. He threw 66 pitches.
Victor Gonzalez (3-0) pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings following Gonsolin. Kenley Jansen recorded four outs to pick up his 14th save.
Gregory Polanco hit an RBI single for Pittsburgh.
Pirates starter Tyler Anderson (3-6) pitched six innings, allowing two runs and six hits, with two walks and two strikeouts.
Pittsburgh first baseman Colin Moran, in his third game off the injured list after a groin injury, left in the fifth inning nearly immediately after being hit by a pitch on the back of his right hand.
With two outs in the first, Turner hit his 10th homer, a shot to center field, for a 1-0 Dodgers lead.
Adam Frazier led off the bottom of the first with a single to left, his National League-leading 78th hit and one that extended his hitting streak to 12 games.
After Ke'Bryan Hayes struck out, Bryan Reynolds reached on a fielder's choice. Moran walked. Polanco followed with a base hit to right off first baseman Albert Pujols' glove, and Reynolds beat the throw home to tie it.
With two outs in the second, Gonsolin walked the bases loaded, ending his night. Gonzalez came in and got Moran to line out.
Turner, again with two outs, hit his second dinger of the game in the third for a 2-1 Los Angeles lead. This one went to left and barely cleared the wall, where left fielder Ka'ai Tom made a nicely timed leap but had the ball go off the webbing of his glove.
The game was delayed 70 minutes at the start by rain.
