Chris Coghlan's RBI single in the eighth inning lifted the Florida Marlins to a 2-1 victory over the visiting Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday at Sun Life Stadium.

The pitching matchup of Philadelphia's Roy Halladay and Florida's Josh Johnson lived up to expectations. Yet, for all the talk about the starters, it was the Marlins' bullpen that locked down the win.

Johnson lasted seven innings, allowing one run on six hits with three walks and seven strikeouts. After he left with the game tied 1-1, Lefthander Mike Dunn (3-2) worked a perfect eighth for the win and Leo Nunez worked around a one-out walk in the ninth for his 12th save.

Halladay (5-2) allowed two runs — one earned — on five hits over eight innings, suffering his first loss against an NL East opponent since Johnson and the Marlins beat him on June 10, 2010. He had won 13 consecutive starts against division foes.

Ryan Howard gave Philadelphia a 1-0 lead in the second with his eighth home run. Florida tied it in the third on Emilio Bonifacio's sacrifice fly, and that's where it stood until the ninth.

Omar Infante led off the eighth by reaching on Jimmy Rollins' throwing error, advanced on a wild pitch and a groundout and scored on Coghlan's soft liner to center with one out.

The Marlins pulled within two games of the division-leading Phillies with the win, and evened the season series at two games apiece.
