Jayson Werth walked with the bases loaded to snap a tie in the fifth and Roy Halladay pitched seven solid innings as the Philadelphia Phillies ended a four-game losing streak with a 3-2 triumph over the San Diego Padres on Friday.

Shane Victorino belted a two-run homer for Philadelphia, which won for just the third time in its last 12 games. The Phillies entered the contest having scored 14 runs in their previous 11 games.

Pitching for the first time since Saturday's perfect game against the Florida Marlins, Halladay (8-3) had a tougher time in this one.

The 33-year-old right-hander allowed two runs and 10 hits, but also fanned seven - including striking out the side in the fourth inning.

Veteran Jose Contreras and J.C. Romero worked the eighth, and Brad Lidge retired the side in the ninth - including striking out the last two batters - for his second save of the season.

Tony Gwynn had a run-scoring single and Adrian Gonzalez added a sacrifice fly for San Diego, which suffered just its fourth loss in its last 12 games.

Mat Latos (5-4) allowed three runs and four hits while walking four and striking out six to take the loss.
