John Buck homered twice as the Toronto Blue Jays halted a three-game losing streak Monday night with a 6-3 triumph over the San Diego Padres.

Buck swatted a two-run shot in the top of the second inning and added a solo homer in the eighth for his third multi-homer game of the season. Buck has 11 home runs on the season, tops among American League catchers, and his two-homer performance moved the Jays to 101 long balls for the season.

Aaron Hill added three doubles and three RBIs as Toronto won for just the second time in its last seven games. The Jays hadn't scored more than three runs in any of their previous six games.

Shaun Marcum (6-3) went seven strong innings, allowing two earned runs on six hits to end a personal two-game losing streak. He struck out two and didn't walk a batter.

Jon Garland (6-5) was tagged for four runs on six hits in five innings, walking four and striking out seven. It was his first home loss of the campaign.

The game was halted briefly after a 5.9-magnitude earthquake rumbled near San Diego during the eighth inning, causing Petco Park to shake for several minutes afterward.
