Harrison Ingram had 19 points, 11 rebounds and six assists to help Stanford rally in the second half for a 76-62 win against San Jose State on Monday night in Palo Alto, Calif.
Jaiden Delaire scored 19 points off the bench and Maxime Raynaud contributed 11 points and six rebounds for Stanford (2-1), which trailed by nine at the half.
Omari Moore scored a career-high 21 points and Tibet Gorener scored 14 off the bench for San Jose State (1-1).
The Spartans took a nine-point lead into the second half, but Stanford came out of the locker room hot and made its first six field-goal attempts to cut into the deficit.
San Jose State matched the Cardinal basket-for-basket on three straight possessions early in the second half to keep the lead, but Stanford finally snatched it away with a 10-0 run that put them ahead 53-49 with 11:48 remaining.
Brandon Angel converted a three-point play for Stanford with 9:57 left, giving the Cardinal their biggest lead through that point of the game at 56-51.
Alvaro Cardenas made a 3-pointer to cut the lead to 58-54 with 9:06 left, but the Spartans were held without a field goal over the next 4:12, allowing Stanford to expand its lead to 66-55.
San Jose State outscored the Cardinal 16-8 over the final five minutes of the first half to take a 38-29 lead into the break.
Moore scored 12 points in the first half and Gorener had 10 off the bench.
Ingram matched Moore with 12 first-half points and Delaire contributed 10 off the bench.
The Spartans shot 60 percent from the floor in the first half, while Stanford shot 37.9 percent. San Jose State finished at 45.7 percent and the Cardinal at 49.2 percent, but the hosts were just 12-for-25 from the free throw line.
