Cole Swider registered 21 points and eight rebounds Tuesday as Syracuse notched its fourth straight victory with a 73-64 road win against Boston College.

Joe Girard III chipped in 19 points -- 17 in the second half -- for the Orange (13-11, 7-6 ACC), who overcame poor games from two of their top players. Buddy Boeheim scored 14 points but missed 13 of his 19 shots, while Jesse Edwards fouled out after 14 scoreless minutes.

The Eagles (9-13, 4-8) lost for the fourth time in five games despite 18 points from Jaeden Zackery, who also had six assists, six rebounds and three steals. DeMarr Langford and Quinten Post pitched in 14 points apiece for BC, with Post grabbing 14 rebounds off the bench.

The Orange shot better from 3-point range (45.8 percent) than they did on two-pointers (35.1 percent). The Eagles made just 37.5 percent of their shots overall, including a 6-for-28 performance from long distance.

Syracuse led by as many as 15 down the stretch before BC made a push to get within 62-55 on Zackery's three-point play with 2:52 left. However, Girard answered with a tough 3-pointer from the corner and then drained a pair of foul shots to restore a 12-point cushion.

Girard knocked down four more free throws in the final 40 seconds to seal the win.

Syracuse controlled the first half and led by 10 points at intermission. BC didn't make a field goal until nearly six minutes had been played and did not reach double figures until over 12 minutes had elapsed.

The Orange led by 12 after Buddy Boeheim and Swider made 3-pointers on back-to-back possessions around the four-minute mark of the first half. The Eagles briefly got the deficit back to single digits, but Jimmy Boeheim's bucket created a 34-24 halftime cushion in favor of the visitors.

Boston College made a little push early in the second half, as the hosts briefly got their deficit to eight. However, Frank Anselem's three-point play and a jumper by Swider quickly restored a 13-point advantage.
