Oscar da Silva had nine of his career-high 26 points in the opening 3:33 as host Stanford scored the game's first 12 points en route to a 72-54 non-conference romp over North Carolina-Wilmington on Sunday afternoon.
Stanford (8-1) went on to lead by 19 points by halftime and coasted to a victory, after suffering its first loss of the season to Butler on Tuesday in the finals of the Hall of Fame Classic in Kansas City.
Marten Linssen and Jaylen Sims had 12 points apiece to pace North Carolina-Wilmington (5-5), which completed a winless two-game Western swing that began with an 80-59 loss at Boise State on Friday.
Down 19 at halftime and 25 in the 12th minute of the second half, the Seahawks made a bit of a run when Jake Boggs and Mike Okauru hit consecutive 3-pointers to get the visitors within 63-44 with still 6:21 to play.
But Stanford's Spencer Jones countered with a pair of free throws and a 3-pointer as the Cardinal rebuilt their advantage to 24 before easing home.
Da Silva hit 11 of his 14 shot attempts for the Cardinal, who shot 51.9 percent as a team.
The junior from Germany's previous career-high had been 23, reached twice last season. Da Silva's previous season-high had been 21 in Stanford's opening win over Montana.
Jones totaled five 3-pointers in eight tries to account for all but two of his 17 points and added a game-high seven rebounds for Stanford, which ran its home record to 7-0.
Sims did all his scoring from beyond the arc on 4-for-8 accuracy for North Carolina-Wilmington, which outscored Stanford 30-24 on 3-pointers.
Kai Toews chipped in with five rebounds and five assists for the Seahawks, a 23-loss team a year ago.
North Carolina-Wilmington went scoreless from the free throw line in the contest, going 0-for-2. Stanford made eight of its 11 attempts, led by da Silva's 3-for-4.
