No. 15 Massachusetts 84, Elon 74: Cady Lalanne led the way with 23 points and 10 rebounds as the Minutemen held off the host Phoenix.

Lalanne was 8-for-12 from the field and 6-for-6 from the free-throw line for UMass (16-1). Chaz Williams added 20 and Maxie Esho tallied a season-high 17 for the Minutemen.

Lucas Troutman slogged his way to a team-high 19 points on 6-of-20 shooting for Elon (10-9). Sebastian Koch added 18 and Tanner Samson chipped in 14 for the Phoenix.

The Minutemen jumped out to a 14-5 lead early behind five each from Lalanne and Raphiael Putney. The Phoenix twice pulled within eight, but UMass answered with buckets each time and took a 41-30 lead to halftime.

UMass led by as many as 12 before Elon cut the deficit to seven in the final five minutes, but UMass constantly found an answer to hold off the Phoenix. Williams scored 14 of his 20 in the final 6:54 to help hold off a final Elon surge.
