Utah 74, Washington 65: Freshman point guard Brandon Taylor scored a season-high 19 points to lead the Utes to their first road victory since joining the Pac-12 last season.
Jason Washburn scored 14 of his 18 points in the first half and Jordan Loveridge finished with 17 points for Utah (9-9, 1-5 Pac-12), which shot 29-for-48 from the floor (60.4 percent).
Andrew Andrews scored a season-high 17 points for Washington (12-6, 4-1). C.J. Wilcox scored all 14 of his points in the second half for the Huskies and Scott Suggs added 12 points on 4-for-16 shooting.
Washburn scored eight points in the first five minutes as Utah sped to a 14-4 lead and then stretched the advantage to 13 before taking a 33-25 lead into the locker room.
The Utes extended the lead back to 13 early in the second half but the Huskies clawed back to within six twice in the closing minutes before Utah clinched the win by making four free throws in the final 25 seconds.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Jarred DuBois, the leading scorer for Utah this season, scored all five of his points in the game’s final minute. … The loss leaves Oregon as the only unbeaten team in Pac-12 play. … Washington, which had won eight of its last nine conference games dating to last season, was trying to start 5-0 for the first time since 1984.
