Marcus Jordan scored 18 of his game-high 26 points in the second half as No. 18 Central Florida came from behind to defeat visiting Marshall 65-58 in the Conference USA opener for both teams Wednesday night.
Marshall (10-4) led by as many as six in the second half, but the Knights (14-0) used a 10-0 run to take control.
Jordan, the son of NBA Hall of Famer Michael Jordan, completed a three-point play to give Central Florida the lead for good 47-46 with 6:44 left. Isaac Sosa (13 points) followed with a 3-pointer, and the Thundering Herd never got closer than four the rest of the way.
Jordan, who had his second straight 26-point effort, added six rebounds and five assists.
Keith Clanton had 14 points and eight rebounds for Central Florida, which outscored Marshall 26-16 after a flagrant foul call on Marshall’s DeAndre Kane with 9:43 left.
Neither team could build more than a four-point lead in the first half and the teams went to the locker room tied 28-28. Marshall came out fast in the second half with a 12-6 run, but struggled shooting the rest of the way and finished 33.9 percent from the field.
Shaquille Johnson led Marshall with 15 points, while Tirrell Baines added 14 points and eight rebounds.
