Garrett Stutz buried a 3-pointer with 8 seconds remaining to lift Wichita State to a 70-69 victory over LSU at the CenturyTel Center in Bossier City, La., on Saturday night.
Stutz finished with 12 points, while Toure' Murry, J.T. Durley and David Kyles contributed 13 points apiece for the Shockers (8-2), which let a 17-point lead slip away.
LSU (7-4) trailed 37-23 at halftime, but the Shockers only mustered one point over the first 5:30 of the second half as the Tigers pulled to within 38-36.
Ralston Turner (game-high 21 points), Andre Stinger (18) and Garrett Green (15) fueled the rally for LSU, which hurt itself by shooting 19 of 56 (33.9 percent).
A 3-pointer by Green, who also had 13 rebounds, gave LSU a 66-63 edge with 1:16 to play, but Wichita also got a key 3-pointer from Kyles with 26 seconds left.
The Shockers' only losses are to Connecticut and San Diego State, both in the Top 10 of the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll.
The Tigers were coming off back-to-back overtime games, a 78-66 victory over McNeese State on Thursday that followed a 78-69 loss to Coastal Carolina on Monday.
