Oakland used a 13-0 run in the final minutes to stun No. 7 Tennessee 89-82 on Tuesday at Knoxville, Tenn., and hand the Volunteers their first loss of the season.
The Golden Grizzlies (6-5) lost by one to No. 8 Michigan State on Saturday, and led before losing at No. 17 Illinois and No. 9 Purdue earlier this season.
Oakland trailed 63-51 with 14:39 remaining, but went on an 11-1 run to make it 64-62 with 11:02 remaining. After Tennessee went on a 12-6 run, Oakland scored the next 13 points to take an 81-76 lead as the Volunteers went scoreless for 5:20.
The Vols (7-1) closed the first half with a 28-13 run and led 50-39 at halftime.
Keith Benson scored a game-high 26 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, and Will Hudson had 17 points and nine rebounds for Oakland, which shot 53.6 percent from the field.
Brian Williams and Melvin Goins each scored 18 points for Tennessee, while Williams had 13 rebounds.
