Jonathan Schoop and Jeimer Candelario homered and drove in three runs apiece, Wily Peralta pitched seven strong innings, and the host Detroit Tigers completed a three-game weekend sweep by blanking the Minnesota Twins 7-0 on Sunday.

Peralta allowed four hits and walked four while recording four strikeouts. He was aided by four double plays. Buck Farmer and Alex Lange pitched the last two innings to complete the shutout.

Peralta (3-1) has given up just one total earned run in his last five starts.

Schoop scored two runs, while Candelario had two extra-base hits. Akil Baddoo and Derek Hill each added two hits and a run scored.

Josh Donaldson reached base three times for the Twins, who swept a four-game series from Detroit prior to the All-Star break. Twins starter J.A. Happ (5-5) was charged with seven runs on 11 hits in seven innings.

Minnesota was 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position and left seven runners on base.

The Twins had a runner in scoring position in each of the first three innings but couldn't cash in.

Detroit took the lead in the third. Jake Rogers led off with a double and Hill reached on a bunt single. One out later, Jonathan Schoop hit a sacrifice fly to bring home Rogers.

Robbie Grossman walked and Cabrera hit a single to left, bringing in Hill. Candelario made it 3-0 with a double off the left-field wall to score Grossman.

Detroit increased the lead to five runs in the fifth on Schoop's two-run blast, which followed Akil Baddoo's infield hit. Schoop leads the team with 17 home runs.

The Tigers pulled off their third double play of the game in the sixth.

Minnesota's Max Kepler grounded into a 6-5-3 double play to end the top of the seventh.

Candelario's sixth homer of the season, a two-out, two-run shot in the bottom of the seventh, gave Detroit a 7-0 lead. That also scored Schoop, who led off with a single.
