Mariners 3, Yankees 2: Michael Morse homered, and Dustin Ackley and Brendan Ryan each drove in a run as visiting Seattle took the rubber match of the three-game series.
Morse, who went 7-for-12 in the series, belted his 10th homer in the sixth for a 3-1 lead and six Mariners' pitchers combined to hold down New York after scheduled starter Aaron Harang was scratched due to lower back stiffness.
Hector Noesi gave up one unearned run and three hits in 4 1/3 innings before Oliver Perez (1-0) followed with 1 1/3 innings for the win. Three more relievers bridged the gap to closer Tom Wilhelmsen, who stranded the tying run at third in earning his 11th save in as many chances.
Yankees starter Andy Pettitte (4-3) exited after 4 2/3 innings due to tightness in his left trapezius (upper back) muscle. He gave up two runs and four hits and fell to 11-13 lifetime against Seattle.
Curtis Granderson had three hits and scored a run, and David Adams had an RBI double for New York, which lost for the third time in 10 games.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Mariners manager Eric Wedge earned his first ejection of the season following the top of the second inning. ... Harang, who was acquired from Colorado on April 12, has never faced the Yankees - the only team he has yet to pitch against. ... Yankees C Chris Stewart (groin) left the game after the bottom of the seventh inning and underwent an MRI exam. He was replaced by Austin Romine.
